ICRC understands the multigenerational, collective and personal trauma which the Middle Eastern Christians suffer from. For many generations, Assyrians of Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria have been exposed to repeated genocide and massacres. Many have come face to face with terror. For a period of three months, we tested a program which introduced trauma therapy by a professional therapist who visited individuals as well as families and offered healing and hope to the Iraqi Christian refugees in Beirut.
