The ICRC Was One of the First International Responders on the Ground in Turkey Providing Support for Earthquake Victims: For the past 16 years, ICRC has risen to the occasion and has been present at the time of crisis. Seeing the heart wrenching images of the earthquake in Turkey and in Syria, we did not stand idly by. Instead, we provided emergency assistance to our partners who in turn reached the victims in both countries in a matter of a few hours. These actions were guided by our compassion for the victims and for by prayer for their healing. This is why our team traveled to the Turkey in personally visited with the victims and saw the monumental destruction first hand. Even after the cameras were gone and the dust settled, we continued to provide aid to the victims, especially during the Easter holiday.
